Question - Committee Membership?

If a person does not repond to any posts for a given length of time do we assume that they are no longer interested and remove them from the committee??

If so, then what is a reasonable length of time to allow?

Do we then invite someone onto the commitee to replace them? and what process should be followed to do this?

Perhaps a couple of months of no reply means it is time for someone to make personal contact to see what is up and how they are. Better to do that than automatically remove someone. The personal touch is meaningful and effective.

The question about whether we invite someone else onto the committee really depends about our approach to membership. Given that this is an interim committee, it probably is open to us inviting someone else on. However, long term there needs to be a process for appointing a committee.

No. What we do is make sure we have contacted them, and establish whether they are able to continue on the committee or not. It is a much better feeling to resign than to be dropped. I know, I’ve been there….
